Delaney Heller is a former Division I pitcher at the University of San Diego, and recently graduated in May of 2020. Delaney has been giving pitching lessons to young softball players in the Bay Area and San Diego since 2015. She loves hearing of her students’ success during practices and games by implementing the mechanics and fundamentals worked on during lessons. Delaney also emphasizes the importance of the mental game, and devotes lesson time to working through tough situations and simulating a game-like environment. Delaney believes pitchers should have the freedom to experiment with different styles of pitching, ask thoughtful questions, and understand the “why” behind things being done the way they are.

Throughout her 15 years of pitching, Delaney has been coached by her mentor, Rich Balswick, and several pitching coaches on staff at USD, including All-American pitcher Danielle O’Toole. This enables her to bring a wide variety of drills and options for mastering a given pitch. Delaney is very passionate about empowering girls through sport, and is dedicated to helping young girls see success off the field as well. Delaney is also currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Sport Management from the University of San Francisco.
