KAYLEE POND

Heyo!

My name is Kaylee Pond (KP) and I will start off by expressing how pumped I am to have the opportunity to share my softball passion with other young and inspirational athletes. I am currently a D1 softball player at UC Berkeley. My freshman year I was a starter for Iowa State and earned Big-12 All-Freshman team and First Team Academic All-Big 12. I am a lefty slapper who also hits for power. On the field I was the starting third baseman at ISU and now am working on playing outfield and catching at Berkeley. The importance of being an athlete and working on all skills is something that I thrive in and plan to preach with the athletes I work with. Diversifying your skills can help any athlete stand out that much more.

What draws me into working with young athletes is to not only teach them skills to make them better softball players/athletes, but being a helping hand on how to successfully navigate the mental part of the game as well. Each athlete is different and therefore each lesson will be structured to help them not only work on their weaknesses, but also excel with their strengths. Working on the fundamentals while adding skill, strength, quickness, and athleticism is what I plan to bring in each lesson.

There is nothing more fulfilling for me when working with an athlete and the lightbulb moment comes. I have coaching backgrounds in multiple sports which has helped me understand the different styles in connecting with the wide variety of athletes. I can’t wait to be a part of the 008 program and empower athletes to have confidence in their softball skills.
