Coach Mindy Scott has been immersed in competitive softball since the age of 8, excelling as both a pitcher and third baseman. Her talent and dedication led to numerous ASA National Tournament appearances, and by 14, she joined the prestigious 18u Sorcerers, where she played out the remainder of her travel ball career. Over her impressive 10-year journey in travel ball, Mindy trained under the renowned pitching coach Rich Balswick, a mentor to many successful Bay Area pitchers.
Mindy began her collegiate career at Midland College in Midland, Texas, where her exceptional performance earned her NJCAA All-American honors and propelled her team to the NJCAA Division I World Series. With several Division I offers on the table, she chose the University of Mobile (UM) on a full athletic scholarship. Despite a severe shoulder injury that would ultimately end her collegiate career, Mindy’s determination earned her an NAIA All-American Honorable Mention, showcasing her resilience and skill.
As a pitching coach, Mindy emphasizes the fundamentals of pitching—spin, mechanics, stamina, and mental approach. She is passionate about helping young athletes not only refine their technical abilities but also build their confidence on and off the field. Known for her personalized approach, Mindy tailors her training plans to suit each athlete’s unique needs, beginning with a focus on mechanics and stamina before progressing to speed and movement.
Currently, Mindy serves as the pitching coach for the Athletics-Mercado Eastbay organization and co-head coach of the 12u Athletics-Mercado Scott-Maun.
